You may want to review your batteries health before you go into replacing your trackpad parts. Using USB connected keyboard & mouse download this gem of an app: CoconutBattery review how many cycles the system has used if you are around 800 I would strongly recommend also replacing the battery as well. Also inspect the battery to make sure it hasn't swollen up any signs of that you want to replace the battery as well.

Post a screen snapshot of the apps main window and post it here as well Adding images to an existing question

Cycle count is 993

Clearly you need a new battery too! Determine battery cycle count for Mac notebooks as you can see its life is 1000 cycles in the T/N.

Now lets look at the cycles them selves in a little over three years you've cycled your battery everyday and then a bit more! Thats a lot !!

I would recommend looking at trying to plug in more often. Ideally you don't want the system to drop below 10-12% as thats when the battery needs a deeper charge which wears the battery. Many people still think LiOn batteries are like the older NiCad battery and try to discharge them deeply to prevent the memory issue the NiCad's had. This is not an issue for the LiOn batteries we use today.

If you are on the road and can't gain access to a outlet for your charger look at secondary battery packs to help off load the power needs. Try as a goal to get to once a week using CoconutBattery for a reference.

Well.... They are off base here ;-} Your problem is likely either the trackpad cable and/or the trackpad its self.

This series combines the keyboard & trackpad signals within a single cable from the trackpad to the logic board and its a bit more exposed than the older models so it can get damaged. Its also possible you had a liquid spill which seeped behind the trackpad and corrosion had but up on the cable connectors. And lastly the controller logic on the back of the trackpad could be damaged. In both these cases you'll need a new trackpad as well.

Here's the IFIXIT guide you'll need to follow: MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Early 2015 Trackpad Replacement. The needed parts are listed in the guide.

Sure, I'll try it and get back

Only my power button works..

I'm able to press the force touch trackpad, but I'm not able to move the cursor or click.

Given the poor health of the battery I'm starting to think the battery is pushing on the cable connections. I would recommend first removing the battery and then just use the MagSafe charger to run the system did that resolve the problem if it did then you only need a new battery.
