Stick mute switch with its metal bracket

My mute switch was not working so I ordered a new flex cable to replace it my self . The replacement I ordered did not had the mute switch and its metal bracket jointed together . Could someone tell me how to stick them together . I tried super glue but it didn't hold . I have attached a sample image.

I was switching it the back housing on a damaged iPhone 6s and the volume\power flex ripped when coming out. The replacement came with the brackets but not the button caps and the mute switch was very loosely glued. I used a small piece of the red double sided tape that I use for tablet digitizer repairs to stick it back on and it seems to have done the trick.

The only struggle I have now is the button cover for the mute switch won't click - it just slides. I think it might have to do with the two metal guides on either side that the button cover is supposed to go through. I'm taking another look at it tonight to see if they are bent.

The mute switch bracket has a small switch on it itself. The switch should fit over that smaller switch on the bracket. Also, the 2 prongs on either side of the mute switch should fit underneath the 2 latches on the side of the small switch on the bracket. The mute switch should stay in place when attached in this way and is screwed in place.
