Back panel won't clip back on xps 13.

So I took off the back panel to upgrade the ssd, however the clips that clip onto the panel at the bottom part near the hinge of the laptop don't seem to be there anymore, so the panel is not clipping back on.. Is there anyway I can fix this? I'm unable to find the pieces that came off the laptop . TIA

Hi @md0902 ,

Looking at the ifixit guide to replace the SSD in an XPS 13 9350 laptop it appears that the back cover is held in by screws.

Are you saying that the screws won't screw in to hold the back cover any more or do you have a different model XPS 13 perhaps?

Once, you take of the screws, you have to pry off the back panel. The clips that hold the panel to the body when you pry it off are not there when i try to clip it back on, so there is a gap at the back part where the hinge is located.

Hi @md0902 ,

Here's a link to the service manual for an XPS 13.

On p.13 it says that the back cover is attached to the palm rest assembly.

Is it that the 'clips' are missing or have they been broken?

They may have broken off, however there is still one that i can see that is attached to the palm rest.

Hi @md0902 ,

I haven't been able to locate any as a separate part. You may have better luck.

You may have to get a new palm rest assembly.
