Wrong battery status during usage and charge

From the beginning I have this problem with the iPhone, but I was too lazy to report it during the warranty. During normal use of iPhone the battery level indicator "stuck" on low battery.

When I discharge battery, and put it on charger it does not show any progress (it detects charger). But after restart it shows real battery level (charged, and green). Do you have experience with this issue and how to solve it?

i have had this with 2 iphones, with ios 4.0 i think. it was solved with 1 by an update with apple/itunes. obviously you can't do that if you have a jb phone. The other phone seemed to be sorted by time/hard resets/who knows... one day it was there, next it was gone.

Just to note that its iOS 4.2.1 and not jb. I'll try hard reset, but even "regullar" restart fix it for few days...

Sync your phone, save contacts, photos etc the I'd try reset.... Go to settings/general/about/restore to factory settings... Takes quite a while and erase EVERYTHING so make sure youre backed up! Then do restore on iTunes

The simplest fix, obviously if it works, is a Hard Reset. It will not change your iPhone at all, it will just restart the phone properly. To do a Hard Reset, hold both the Top/Power button and Home button at the same time, for about 15 seconds, just keep holding both buttons until the iPhone restarts.

Good luck,

Brad

Thnx, after hard reset (power+home) now it's 'green', for now. I'll check it when discharge battery and put it back on charger... then will try this what pollytintop suggested.
