Did anyone have problems connecting a MacBook Pro to TV with Hdmi?

Block Image

Hello everyone! I recently bought a second hand MacBook Pro from 2011 and it works quite good but I have a problem after conecting it to TV using Hdmi cable and HDMI adapter. The screen on the TV changes the color after 10,15 min but on TV remains the same. I tried with two different adapters and two HDMI’s. I think that the problem is on my MacBook. Does anyone know about this issue?

Can you give us your exact model so we can aim you to the correct guides (early or late 2011?).

I think you are right, Dan. The problem might be inside because also the sound port is having issues. If I am connecting the headphones through the jack cable, you can barely hear the sound on max volume and om bluetooth speakers or headphones, the sound works as it should.

You'll need to do a bit of sleuthing ;-}

As the internal display is working correctly we know the GPU logic is working so its from the GPU to the Thunderbolt port there's an issue.

I would recommend popping off the bottom cover and inspect the logic board for any signs of liquid damage or damaged components around the Thunderbolt port.

Here's the IFIXIT guide you'll need to follow to take the logic board out to inspect the other side: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Late 2011 Logic Board Replacement. You may end up needing to replace it, the guide has the listing of your options.

Same issue but what worked for me, was going to system preference > display > select color tab and switching the selected display profile "39hn-D0" to "SD 170M-A"
