Washing machine not recognising door is locked

Hi,

My washing machine has just starting failing to acknowledge the door is locked. Started all of a sudden. It's an Indesit wia111. When you turn the knob to the Program and hit the start button, you can hear the door interlock click shut and the door will no longer open, but the door lock led doesn't come on and the Program doesn't start. Already tried replacing the interlock, no change. Machine has been power cycled a few times now at the wall and tried various different programs. Anyone know what's up with it? :)

@slaverty if the door locks and you already changed the lock then the issues most likely is with your control board. Consider posting some pictures of your boards etc. so that we can see what you see. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that.

Update (05/27/2018)

Do a search by the actual board number EDT0095.6 you'll find the right replacement. The only document I have on it is in Russian but you can use Google translate to get the gist of it. Jurnal_11-134_2009_Q5.qxd

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Have added pictures and had a look for replacement PCB but coming up short :( From picture, you can see black dust of some sort over components. Cleaned these off with air in case they were shorting something but no change. Will keep hunting for replacement PCB

Hi @slaverty ,

Have you tried this site for the control board part?

Scroll down to find "control board" in the list of parts. (middle row 3 down )

You may wish to verify with the supplier that it is the correct one for your machine!

Also if you have an Ohmmeter, with the power disconnected, check the continuity of the wires from the door switch back to the control board. Apologies if you've done this already.

Thanks for all this info @oldturkey03 & @jayeff , much appreciated. Using that board number (I was using 94VO LT-C126) and site I was able to find 2 replacements, however one is £125 and the other is a job lot of 3 boards, none of which are confirmed working so will likely need soldering which I am terrible at, so think I'm just going to go for a new machine. Hoped to pick a board up ~£60 but I can get a new machine for £150-£180 so can't justify £125 just for a new board :( Oh well, least the missus will be happy

@slaverty yes I just checked and am surprised about the cost for those. The lot of 3 on ebay.uk look good in price if one would only know they worked.....
