6s Water Damage Show High Current On Power Supply

Hi everyone.

I have 6s water damage. I clean the board with isopropilic alcool.

After cleaning the phone turn on but not Recognize USB Cable.

I changed Tristar but no solve the problem, then i Reball (not change) Tigris and phone begin recognize usb and charge.

After two days the phone not work.

When i connect it to DC power supply, it shows 0.04 without turn the phone.

When i turn on the phone, it shows randomly high and low current, like 1,9 1,8 0,9....

Somebody think it depends on Tigris IC ( because it reballed IC and not new) Or i have to search the problem on some other component.

VERY SORRY :( for my english :)) Thanks a lot

With a water damaged phone, all bets are off :>).

You should try a new Tigris just to eliminate that as a possibility but I would also take a close look L2300/C2300. Any issues there would cripple the output of Tigris. You'll also want to look at the TIGRIS_ACTIVE_DIODE LINE (and the MOSFET) to see if it is working properly. It should switch from high to low when a charger is connected.

Thanks a lot Minho.. I checked the motherboard yesterday, and find Vcc Main Short on this phone.. its strange the phone turn on..

I try to put out Tigris but short remain.. I read somewhere its possibile to give current only vcc main line and check the hottest component to find the short (with cold spray), its is really possibile.? if yes,, i . can connect DCC power Supply Black Cable for any component who find vcc main and turn on the phone for find short????? if i m wrong, cuold u plz tell me the write procedure? thanks

by

you will need to solder the negative wire to ground and the plus to a component at vcc_main side

Thanks a Lot Daniel.. in this case its not neccesary turn on the phone, i can increase only the amphere button right?

by

Ideally, you want to start with a low voltage like 2.5V. If something on VCC_MAIN is dead short, it will heat up right away but there won't be enough voltage to damage anything else.

Yes this looks good assuming the pink wire is connected to the positive terminal of your PS.
