Logic Board Firmware shows Wrong Speed

I recently bought a replacement 2.0GHz logic board for my a1150.

The logic board boots fine, however About My Mac only reports 1.67GHz for the processor speed (Yes it is a 2.0/2.2 GHz logic board based on video type and memory.) Also the fans will not spin up after boot (They do the test spin), though in testing them outside the system they work fine. Bootcamp shows an issue with the firmware revision, and I am unable to either update or roll back the firmware.

BOOT ROM Version: AAPLM011.0031.B00

SMC Version 1.2f7

I am at a loss beyond sending the board back and getting another one. Any suggestions?

Someone sent you the logic board for this machine:

Apple MacBook Pro "Core Duo" 1.67 15" Specs

Identifiers: MacBook Pro - MA090LL - MacBookPro1,1 - A1150 - N/A

the 1.67 GHz board is part # 661-3952

the 2.0 GHz board is part # 661-3953

Actually that is a 1.83 GHz system. This board has the 256MB video, so it has to be one of the upper models. I am leaning to firmware...

What machine are you talking about?

There are no 1.67GHz MacBook Pros; the only intel processor in a mac that's slower than 1.83ghz is the 1.66ghz core solo in base model first gen intel mac minis. Very intrigued by this issue. Try different ram and see if the ram is affecting/down clocking the bus maybe?

Or maybe you put a 2.0/2.2 generation (macbookpro1,2) logic board in your a1150 (macbookpro1,1) computer?

I am not recognizing the firmware AAPLM011.0031.B00. I thought Macbook Pro firmwares started with MBP (e.g., MBP11.0055.B08) If someone managed to put the wrong firmware on here.....

Trust me on this, I have gsx access and there is no 1.67ghz macbook pro. 1.67 was the powerbook's g4 speed. Even in the exploded view of that MacBook pro in the link you posted you can see where the proc speed options are 1.83, 2.0, and 2.16. Something's definitely wrong here.

Good Eye!! +. People swear by all the information that's on the web. A good portion is, but I would never bank on online info. +

This is very strange. Both everymac and welovemacs list this machine
