Is it worth putting a ssd or sshd in this laptop to speed it up?

I have this laptop and it has a celeron 1.6ghz duel core processor and 4GB of ram that’s not upgradable. It has a 500GB 5400 rpm hard drive. I haven’t tested the hard drive speed yet but it’s already slow. I’m thinking to put macOS on it. Will 4GB and a 250GB SSD be enough for Mac to run?

Yes a SSD is MUCH faster then a 5400 RPM drive, most desktop drives are 7200 RPM so it is even slower then those. It is not easy to install OSX on non Apple devices you have to do a bit of hacking and if you are unsure of the benafits of SSD over a magnetic drive you will have an uneasy time doing a hacked version of osX install on normal PC hardware and not Apple hardware.

Ok. Is it better to just get a sshd? I have installed ssd’s before but never seen the performance of a sshd.
