Home button not working on New screen.

Hey,

I replaced my broken screen with a New one. But when I tried the screen the homebutton did not respond, so I checken if i connected it propperly and i did. Then I transfered the Home button back to the broken screen and put it back on the iPhone and it worked just fine!

Does anybody know how to fix this problem?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

The new screen is not compatiable with the home button. This is usually do to software updates sent by Apple. There has been a fare share of problems with different components not working after replacing with a new screen. Apple doesn’t want you to fix your phone, they want to fix.

I dont think that is the case, because i repaired a couple more phones and the Home button worked fine after! The Home button only stops working because of software if you replaced the Home button itself!

Are you saying you used the same screen that didn’t work to repair another device? Is the screen OEM or OEM spec or neither? The reason I say it’s a compatibility issue is because I fix iPhones all the time and some time we get shipped parts from manufacture that either are defective or are not compatible. Happens sometimes.

No, I used a New screen that i ordered here at ifixit.
