Hi @suev ,

What is the signal strength of the WiFi signal as shown by the laptop?

Does it show 5 bars or only 1 or 2?

If it always shows low signal strength this could be one reason for the WiFi to disconnect.

Try installing a WiFi scanner program (example only) to check the level of the signal (remember it is showing -ve dB levels, therefore the higher the number the lower the actual signal level is).

It also shows other networks close by and if you are sharing the same channel as them, if their signal strength is high in relation to yours it could be causing interference in your network. If you think that there may be this possibility try changing the channel in your WiFi router to a quieter channel (i.e. a channel that has no or a low number of appearances in the scanner's list of detected working channels. Most WiFi routers have default channels of 1, 6 or 11 out of the box, so try changing it to another channel number.

Another possibility for low WiFi signals, if this is the case, is electro-magnetic interference (EMI) caused by electrical equipment such as electric motors etc. Are there any fridges, air-cons etc near to where you are using the laptop or between the router and the laptop?

Even thick walls between the router and the laptop can degrade the signal. Try moving your laptop to different locations within the premises to see if the signal level varies . The scanner program will show you the levels that are being received by the laptop.
