My battery is bloated. Is this the reason why my screen turned black?

video link

The link shows exactly what happened to my device. I'm planning to buy an iFixit kit for battery replacement. However, I'm still reluctant because what if the black screen is another issue altogether? My first inference is that since the battery is bloated, it may have disconnected some modules inside, like the one for the display. I just wanna be sure before buying.

I hope someone can help me in this. I've searched sites discussing about bloated batteries but I haven't found any case like mine. Thank you!

You might want to order a new screen as well.

You should open up the phone since the battery is bloated;

Unplug battery, reseat screen ribbon cables then plug battery back in and see if the screen still looks like that.

If it does it needs a new screen.

Here is a guide and link to screen if needed from iFixit:

Is there a more than likely chance that the malfunctioning screen is not caused by the bloating battery?

by

The screen display appears to be physically damaged from being pushed up which is most likely caused by the bloated battery.
