Am I correctly fixing the grounding issue on my repaired tablet?

I replaced the LCD/digitizer on my dad's ASUS MeMoPAD FHD 10 Android tablet, but the digitizer would produce ghost touching effects if you pressed on it too hard (if you pressed hard on one part of the screen, it will begin to freak out and register multiple presses in other parts of the screen). I've done some research and found that if the ribbon cable of the digitizer is touching the metal frame, it could cause these issues. Would taping all of the metal surfaces in contact with the ribbon cable with electrical tape fix the issue? The cable in the bottom right corner of the tablet that splits into two is the digitizer ribbon cable, and this is how it came from the factory. How did it insulate itself before?
