Device not charging with power adapter

My power adapter fell off the bed while plugged into my laptop, and the laptop immediately shut off. It would restart and run fine on battery, but would not recognize the power adapter. I checked the adapter with a multimeter, and the open circuit voltage is still 19.

Is the issue most likely in the power adapter, or did the charger falling somehow fry my motherboard?

Answer this question I have this problem too

No i didn't fry your motherboard, seeing how it still runs on battery ,but most likely you could have broken the charger port on the computer. try getting a replacement charger and try it on your computer. if that don't work then most likely you have broken the charging port and will have to replace it or get a new laptop
