Core Duo 2.0 Not Charging New Battery and Adapter.

My MacBook pro will not charge. I bought a new adapter and battery. Once the battery ran down, the computer died. The adapter shows a steady bright green light. When it is plugged in, I can hear a clicking sound if I put the laptop to my ear. I though it was the io board but the adapter is lit up. Scared it is a logic board issue.

UPDATE

Has it gotten wet? Try reseating your battery connector to logic board cable. MacBook Pro 15" Core Duo Model A1150 Battery Connector Replacement

Also remove the battery and using a multimeter, check the output of the battery connector. If there is no output, replace the connector.

I installed the new board and it now will boot. However, the battery will not charge. I am getting a bright green light on the adapter. The new battery only shows 29 cycles and -1 charge on coconut battery app.

Is the battery really older than that? If so, you might just have an old battery. It's been a while since Apple's been selling MacBook Pros in the 2.0 GHz range. (or for that matter, a Core Duo machine)
