Headset has stopped working with my controller?

I have a pair of Logitech G231 and I used to keep it plugged into the audio jack on my controller and keep the mic muted until I got into a party. It worked fine for about a month or two until it just stopped working? No sound and the mic doesn't work. I plugged the headset into my PC and got sound, then I plugged earphones into the controller and got sound. It just seems to be the combo of headset and controller that doesn't work.

Has this happened to anyone before?
