Installed aftermarket stereo, unit comes on but no sound

Aftermarket single din stereo comes on and works completely after I installed, but there is no sound from any speakers. There were no sound issues with the crappy factory stereo. I used the wiring harness and connected all wires to proper colors.. not sure what the issue is. This is my first install so hopefully someone with more experience can give me suggestions.

Options

You will often need an adaptor to fit your aftermarket unit, to your factory wiring. Even if the wiring looks the same, you will still need an adaptor.
