Fix for spilled coffee on Keyboard Wired with Numeric Keypad?

Hi,

So I've seen this question online many times. And it usually has a similar answer: wash with lots of clean running water, then let it dry for a week or longer. My issue however, is most people describe having problems with their keyboards, but they still work a little. As in some keys still respond, even if they're all wonky.

The keyboard I am using no longer works at all. Not a single key works. It seems completely dead.

Does this mean the keyboard is officially screwed, or should I try the clean water-dry technique anyway? Is there still hope? (I'm hesitant because it's not my keyboard but my boss', so it's either fix it or buy a new one in a few months)

I think the keyboard is a Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad (with a non-detachable usb cable).

I appreciate any help!

The economics of repair Vs replace becomes the issue.

Apple does not offer replacement parts so you would need to find a second keyboard of the same series to use for parts. Even then you might find it too has the same damaged part you need.

Apple makes it very difficult to open these keyboards so you'll end up with a mess if you're not careful.

Frankly, I think its just easier to replace. But then again I do this for a living so the time I spend on a repair becomes important.
