Hi, @geko1986 ,

You may be out of luck.

HDMI cannot tune into any TV channels. (FTA or cable TV). It is not a tuner.

The co-ax port is part of the digital tuner module on the mainboard. This is a sealed unit and difficult to repair.

If you wish to continue to use the TV, either replace the mainboard or get a compatible box which connects to your cable service and connect via HDMI from it. (if you mean when you say that you have "basic cable' that there is a co-ax cable FTA antenna lead into the TV then connect it to a HD set top box and tune into the channels using it and connect it to the TV via HDMI)

I had the same problem. Repairing the coax plug is difficult for an HD tv, most of the videos on YouTube are for older tvs - see link here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9v-dUyz... . Buying an external tv tuner, sometimes referred to as a converter box, is probably the best answer (see jayeff’s answer). I bought this product https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VNV... and it seems to work just fine for getting over-the-air tv broadcasts (not cable tv).
