How to fix the lower auxiliary tray on the 9th generation Corolla?

Hi,

there are two auxuliary trays in my 2007 Corolla right below the 3 knobs that regulate the heat direction, fan speed and tempreature.

Both of the trays seem to have springs to keep them closed. On my lower tray the spring is either broken or weak. Every time I start accelerating it opens up.

I would appreciate instructions on how to fix it or how to replace the tray assembly if the spring cannot be fixed.
