Has anyone tried switching the logic board and home button?

Ok I I know all about the iPhone 7 and 7 plus home button can’t be replaced and work without being paired but has anyone took the working logic board along with the home button that’s paired to it and switched it to another device?

Like for example:

I have a rose gold iPhone 7 Plus (just say my home button is broken) but want my front face black. I have a matte black iPhone 7 Plus that has been laying around for parts but in general works.

I know I can replace the screens but could I exchange the logic and home buttons and it work? Has it been done?

I have high doubts that it would work but don’t want to take apart my good phone and mess it up XD just to try.

Swapping out the logic board is not an issue. Repair techs do this all the time by putting repaired logic boards inside a known-good housing to do a functional test. If you migrate the Home Button, then you have done essentially a heart and brain transplant into another body. For all intents and purposes, the logic board IS the phone.
