playstatoin 3 won't turn onafter power surge

The playstation will not turn on at all after a power surge. Any suggestions on what it would be?

Please tell me what it did do. Did any lights or fans come on? Did it shut itself down? Did the power button not work?

My first best guess is that the diodes in the bridge rectifier died in the power supply. Replace your power supply and give it a try. Instructions for the replacement are here: PlayStation 3 Power Supply Replacement

I can't guarantee you the spike didn't go past there before the diodes died. But diodes die when fed to much current.
