optical drive not detected after ssd install and logicboard install

The logic board failed in my macbook pro 2011 late model. I thought it was the HD so I replaced it with an SSD. Then realizing that the logic board was bad, I replaced that and reinstalled the OS.

Now, I cannot use the optic drive. There is no indication that it exists on the computer. I try to put a disk in and it will not receive, make noise......nothing.

I have tried resetting the PRAM and SMC. Nothing.

Please advise as to what I need to do. I need the cd/dvd rom for work related purposes.

Thank you in advance!

Sometimes its the simplest thing are you sure you reconnected the drive cable? Review Step7 here: MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Late 2011 Optical Drive Replacement. If it appears connected take a good magnifier and inspect the socket and cable contacts one or two could be bent.
