Laptop shuts down when disconnected from power at 60%

My mbp suddenly started shutting down around 51 to 61% battery when it is not connected to the power cord. The battery status shows that I need to service the battery, but it is no longer under warranty.

I've downloaded Coconut Battery to see my battery's condition, but I'm unsure what to make of it. I've downloaded Python Launder to run an application at log-in, but I get an error on the code I found online. The computer runs well when it's connected but I'm hoping to find a fix because I can't have it conneced all the time.

I've tried doing an SMC reset, but that did not fix the problem either. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Design Capacity is listed by Coconut battery at 18.9%. For something from 2014, it should be in at least the 80%s. This is indicative of a failed battery.

If you fix it yourself, it is $50-$60 for the battery. Please note, that some disassembly is required, and the battery is glued down to the underside of the palm rest.

Here is the teardown guide if you need it.

I believe you have a bad battery. You could try sending it to Apple or buying a new one online or in stores, but other than that I’m not sure how to help.
