What size Hard Drive do I replace the existing one with.

Can you tell me what size or type of drive I need to replace what I have. That would be greatly appreciated.

If you could point me to a cheap one on Amazon the is around 256 GB that would be very helpful.

It would go into my 21.5" iMac that is around 2013 or 14.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Given that you are looking for a "cheap" one on Amazon, I'm going to assume you are not looking to replace a Fusion Drive setup.

Essentially, you want a 2.5" drive with a SATA III 6 Gb/s connection. So you can search wherever you want for the best deal. I've provided a couple of examples below.

Cheap Option: For a regular 250GB HDD: https://www.amazon.com/250GB-Inchs-Drive...

Performance Option: If you want to spend a little more money for a 250GB SSD (recommended): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0764WCXCV/ref...

If you are going to be opening up that computer it would be well worth it to replace the existing hard drive with a solid state drive! Just make sure you have all of the pieces to do so: SSD, and adhesive strips. https://smile.amazon.com/Crucial-MX500-2...
