Why does my screen glitch out when I get halfway to closing it.

when my Chromebook screen gets halfway to closing it starts to glitch out and the screen flickers.

Hi,

It seems as though the LCD cable may either be fractured where it passes through the hinge area of the laptop, between to lid and the case or perhaps the LCD cable connection is loose on the back of the LCD display assembly.

Here is a link to a video which shows how to replace the screen in an Acer Chromebook laptop. I realize that it is not for your exact model PC (couldn't find one for your model) but this should be close enough to give an idea.

At 4:04 minutes into the video there is a clear view of both areas that I mentioned.

If it is deemed that the LCD cable is the problem, here is a link to the ifixit Acer Chromebook CB3-431-C5EX guides which should help to gain access to the motherboard so that the cable can be disconnected / reconnected etc.

Here is the part # for the LCD cable, MGY-1422-02B3000-1. Search online using the part number only in the search box, to find suppliers of the part.
