2010 15" MacBook Pro logic board problem

My Mid 2010 15” MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz logic board is not working because of the NVIDIA GPU problem. I tested and confirmed that the graphics card gone bad and there are plenty of reviews online that tells about this problem.

I need help from the experts here to decide whether I can buy a 2011 logic board or at least replace this one with better one from the same year (i7 2.66 GHz from 2010).

Please let me know, which logic board is required to replace that can make my mac run again.

What do you mean by GPU failed? If it's kernel panicking, this is a fixable issue 99% of the time and is NOT the GPU. Also, if it is the GPU, do NOT replace with a 2011 or your life will be even more miserable lmao if all else fails and you want a unibody, buy a 2012 15" the only good one they ever made.

I am trying to replace the capacitor and fix it

Good for you! Way to show initiative and try to fix the problem rather than replace the board blindly like some of the people on here recommend.

Hi

Reading your comments because I have an issue about the motherboard (at least is what I was told by the repair shop), any simple way that I can know where is the problem and how to solve it? Instead of looking for a new motherboard just as you wrote?

Thanks!
