I have audio but no back lights on my LG TV

I couldnt find my tv on the list of options, so i had to a random one. I have a 42LB5600 LG TV and it has audio but no picture. I learned about the flashlight test and i do see pictures but its obviously very dim . We had a storm in my area last night, not sure if that had anything to do with it. Can anybody tell me whats wrong? and if this is something i can fix myself? Warranty on the tv ended last october.
