1 RAM slot is bad, can I put 2 GB there?
I used to have 2 x 1 GB installed in my MacBook, but today I found that one of the slots is malfunctioning for whatever reason. (Both chips work in the other slot alone.)
I've read lots of reports saying that the max RAM on these machines is 2 GB, but nobody mentions whether it has to be in two chips--will 1 x 2 GB work in my remaining slot?
Update: See my comment below. Also, I have the 1.83 Ghz model.
Is this a good question?
