Red blinking light after thermal paste

So I opened my ps3 trying to clean up the dust from it, re applied thermal paste, put it back together. Turned it on and the fan started spinning for a second then I got a red blinking light. I thought it was the thermal paste, I went back re did it and same thing. Tried 1 more time and made sure it was spread everywhere, I turned it back on and same thing.
