The Micro-USB is not firm enough, do I need to replace it?

Hi,

How can I improve the USB cable connection since it does not seem to be firm enough...

How hard is it to replace the Micro-USB connector? is it welded or just fit?

Where can I buy this component with confidence?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

It is definitely soldered onto the main board, and you would need a fine soldering tip as it has 5 contacts really close from each other. If you are able to use your usb, then you just need to apply some solder on the usb bases, which need 4 blobs of solder on each corner (which makes it sturdy). If you wish to replace it then you would need to solder 5 contacts plus the additional 4 blobs for sturdiness.

If all 5 pins are soldered and none of the solder joints are broken, how is adding more solder going to make it more secure and/or solve the problem? I can understand adding solder to any broken solder joints.

Read my comment once again. Solder on usb corners (not saying it's the same on every case) tends to break. I understand you know what a solder joint is. Good for you. but I mean adding solder or just reheat the current solder on the four corners in this particular case. One more time; there are 5 pins on this usb plus the 4 corners that make the usb connector a lot stronger.
