How can I configure this late 2008 machine to run High Sierra?

I am currently running my Late 2008 MacBook on the El Capitan OS

Apple says that my machine is too old to update the OS to High Sierra but my problem is that Logic X version 10.4 will not run on El Capitan but needs Sierra or High Sierra to run

I am running Logic X 10.3 on the machine at the moment but this looks like I will not be able to have any more updates of Logic

Is there anything I can do - apart from buy a new machine of course?

Thanks

Graham

There is no EFI update that is available for a 2008 that supports the High Sierra OS and new File Systems.

The dosdude patcher only works on 2008+ Pros, and 2009+ non-Pros.

@grahammartin - Check your model ID if you have MacBook 5,1 then you're in luck! As the patcher @avanteguarde lists here will allow you to upgrade with High Sierra.

But that in its self may not help you ;-{

RAM and storage limits of your system will effect your ability to run anything big or long, besides the lag your older CPU will have running the app (Logic Pro X).
