iPhone 6 won't charge unless turned off

I have one of those braided 10 ft lightning cable chargers. It was working completely fine up until a couple of days ago. Now it only charges the phone when it's off. I tested it with an apple charger and it works fine with that. I thought it was just the charger at first, but wouldn't that only be so if the cable didn't work at all? Please help!

If the phone charges fine with an original Apple charger and Lightning cable, then I suspect your braided cable is partially defective and will need to be replaced.

Could be your cable yes id certainly be testing with known good chargers to eliminate that first.

May also be a bad tristar IC which will also give you this symptom. Which coincidentally are damaged by using bad chargers
