My device says there is a paper jam. I can't find it.

My printer was working fine then for no reason the message came up saying "clear the paper jam". I have had a good look right through the machine and I can not see any paper jamming the device anywhere. What can I try now? Can anyone repair it in Newcastle upon Tyne?
