Rattling sound on the back near the rear camera?

Hello! :)

I bought my iphone 4 a week ago and soon noticed this strange rattling, when I put it down on the table. Half of a centimeter suffices to cause this. But it only appears, when the lower or the left part is already on the table. Not the other way round. Also when i just lightly knock with my finger on the back near the camera (not if I do this on the front side). The noise comes from the rear camera area. It sounds like very small marbles bumping on each other just for a fraction of a second. It also appears, when i hold all the buttons or even press them.

It really sounds as if it would be the camera.

Thanks for the help! ;)

I heard there was an issue with the auto focus on the 3gs causing a rattle noise, maybe thats the issue?

It could be the camera lens ring. Its located on the back plate of the iPhone 4 but might come lose. This is what it looks like: http://iphone4parts.com/shop/iphone-chas...

If you have a precision screwdriver, you can unscrew the two bottom screws of the iPhone and gently slide up and out on the back panel. This will remove it so you can further inspect it. Then you can screw your iPhone back plate back on.
