Touch id Not working on my iPhone 7

So just the other day, I subconsciously just started using my pass code more to unlock my phone, I hadn't realized it until now, but my touch id isn't being accepted anymore.

So I deleted my finger prints, and then added new ones on. It worked for an hour or so and now It just doesn't take anymore. It's denying my fingerprint either, It just does nothing.

Have you had your screen replaced before this happened?

When you boot the device, does it give you an error message saying that there is no TouchID? If it does, then the TouchID sensor in the home button is damaged.

If it doesn't, then the problem may be software related. I would try a hard reset (Lock/DownVol buttons for ~10 secs). If that doesn't work, do an iOs update if available and eventually, try a full backup/DFU restore to see if that helps.

If none of that works or you get an error message, then you will need to take your phone to an Apple Store for a new TouchID sensor. Only they can program a new button.

@refectio yes looks like a major intervention is needed for that group.

In 2023, Apple will not fix anything except the battery and the screen on the iPhone 7 Plus, they will just replace the device for $349.

Don’t try to repair this.

Only Apple can fully repair Touch ID without worrying about it being ruined. If you need to ask how to repair this, you don’t have the skills and tools to repair it and WILL ruin your phone.

Just go to Apple, I hate to say this, but they have almost absolute monopoly on Touch ID repairs.

If it is faulty equipment or software Apple will fix it for free. If it is something they determine you did they will give you a route before repair.

Reboot your iPhone or iPad. Go back to Touch ID & Passcode in Settings and turn iTunes & App Store back on. Tap on Add a Fingerprint to add another fingerprint

I would start a repair with Apple. Touch ID is one of those things you shouldn't internally mess with. If you really want to, REWA Technology has videos, but it requires soldering under a microscope and risking your home button. In my opinion, I would just call Apple and get something set up.

Try Setting>> General >> Reset>>Reset All Setting

if did’t work ? just go to Apple Store, they are the only ones that can help with all your TouchID Issues.
