power board condenser removal

Hi, on canon t3 power board - do i really need this big, electrolytic condenser? I got rid of flash an whole top case - can i just solder this cap out?

Why would you want to remove it?

because I've removed flash, and in saving weight, and, second answer - just to know if power board will work without it :)

We can remove this cap. Due to many pros answers i did it, and power board works as usual (excluding charging lamp :)
