Screen not showing red color at certain angles. Where to look?

Hi,

my right hinge is totally broken on my mbp. However, the screen is working but is, with the lid at certain angles, not showing red color. (Replaced with black). Something like this;

At 10 degrees (almost closed lid) to approx. 70-80 degrees: working good, showing RGB.

At approx. 70 degrees to fully opened: only showing green and blue channels.

Anyone have a suggestion on where to look?

Thank you for your time!

Chers,

Johan

I would give up using your LCD and use an external monitor until you replace the hinge. After that you will need to replace the video cable. The wires on it obviously are broken internally. The gist of both of these repairs in is this guide.
