LCD thermal sensor port is broken, any app to fix noisy fan problem?

Hello dear friends,

first of all let me thanks this community for providing such interesting content.

As the title says, I broke my lcd thermal sensor port, |the mac starts but fan's are at full speed| so my only option would be to bring it to pro repair and resolder the port or to use an external display.

However I would like to ask if there is an app to resolve the fan noise problem occurring because of the lack of lcd thermal sensor cable connectivity.

Cheers!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Sorry, no real way without creating other problems! You'll need to get the the logic board fixed

Desoldering the SMC chip and then you would need to manually control the fans. As I said this is not the solution!

@danj couldnt you just use Macs fan control? https://www.crystalidea.com/macs-fan-con...

by

Sadly no it only effects the HD fan's SMC input. It won't override the LCD sensor.

Have you tried the free SMC Fan Control, may be worth a try.
