820-2610-A : U7870 missing on my motherboard? Schematic is weird

Hello world,

I am looking to understand the schematic here:

I recently soldered the very known c7771 capacitor for bad voltage and now i see that on the exact other side of the board i have no U7871, but on the schematic it is written

"U7871 IS TO REPLACE U7870" on page 67;

but on openboardview it seems like there is a component.

Does somebody know if there is a component here or not?

Thanks a lot

@yanndetrie U7871 is an Omit. This means that it is not on the board. This cold be because of later developments of the circuitry etc. which may have made it obsolete or it can be used for further development in the future. At the time your board was developed is was no longer used. So it is okay to omit this :-)

Unfortunately I don't have a board like yours to check about your apparently missing component, but I can say that schematics are not perfect, sometimes they have misplaced parts or wrong values or they seem like incomplete drafts. Some schematics, like some of iphones are clearly wrong when you compare them with the real world boards. Therefore, if it seems there's no missing component as you don't see any empty room with a clearly pulled IC , it's probably just like that, irrespective what the schematic says.
