Is the 2009 Motherboard compatible with the 2006 model?

Hello, I have just installed mostly a 2009 motherboard to a late 2006 MacBook model MA699B/A which I did my homework as it was a A1181 compatible, but discovered that a the black plug cable from the screen unit that accompanied the airport card didn't fit the port that was apart of my failed logic board nor did the optical drive cable. I'm wondering if I got the wrong board that wasn't compatible with my MacBook?

A1181 have been manufactured with small differences here and there that prevent logic boards swapping between different years. I've had around at least 3/4 different A1181 boards that don't cross fit, due to differences mainly in connectors and lvds cables. Best thing is to check carefully logic board code number of the one you have to replace and get exactly the one you need.

I wish I knew that before buying and trying to install the board as I'm idiotic in that field, so now to get the correct board and trying to pluck my courage to do this task again using the ifixit step by step again.

@icaruskarin You've been a bit too brave and optimistic ;) If you're around Europe I might have aside a right board for your Mac..feel free to contact me through the mail you find in my profile with the board code of your old one. Otherwise better find some spare closer to you. Good luck in any case.
