Hi @novelia,

Do you have more than one portable phone connected to the Uniden Dect 6.0 base station?

If yes, is the noise apparent in all the phones?

If only in the one phone, then there is a problem with that phone.

If the noise in heard in all the phones (or even if you have only the one phone), you first need to prove if the problem is in the phone line, in the phone line socket, in the Uniden base station or phone in the case of only one phone connected, (or perhaps coming from some other equipment tied to the phone line in the premises, if this is applicable).

Try using a corded phone plugged directly into the telephone wall socket. (where the Uniden base station is plugged into) and listen if you can hear any noise/static.

Also disconnect any other device that may be connected to the phone line such as a modem etc. You only want the one phone connected to the phone line to do the test, nothing else.

The simplest way to do this is to pick up the receiver and dial 1, just to break the dial tone sound. On a good line it should be very quiet. If the line (or socket) is faulty then you will hear noise.

If the line sounds clear, then the problem is either in the Uniden base station cord connection/ Uniden base station itself or the phone (or perhaps from some other equipment that you may have connected to the phone line, if this is applicable)

If the line sounds noisy try jiggling the phone plug in the socket and listen if the noise /static varies.

If it does then the socket may be the problem.

If the noise stays the same, then you have a line fault. Contact your phone service provider and get them to test the line.
