Issue with Left Thumbstick

I have my Elite controller that works very well, it definitely has a lot of hours under its belt but never had an issue with it until out of the blue, when I push forward on the thumb stick to walk forward, the controller acts as if im pressing the Right trigger. Has anyone had this issue before and what can be done to fix.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Same thing happened to my elite series 1 controller. Subsequently, the left thumb stick will physically and audibly click but won't register the input. I really don't want to un-solder the joystick, resolder a new one back on. I really really don't want to shell out $150 for a new one. I'm trying to compensate by remapping the L3 input to one of the paddles; that won't be viable forever. Anybody have any ideas?

I'll try to blow it.

Move the stick to the left and blow into it. Dust collects on the button which causes it not to be detected when pushed in.
