Hinge loose, can it get stronger?

Ive tried the two screws that are viewable from the top, thought those would fix my issue but ws sadly mistaken

Whats likely happened is the counter balance springs have failed. Here's the part you'll need for a 24" model: Mechanism-for-LED-Cinema-Display - Apple P/N 922-8688

hinges are mechanical, which means they can always be repaired. however, you would need access to the screws that are failing in order to properly tighten them. i have not personaly dealt with this device, however, if the screws you DO have access too are not the problem, then it is either screws inside the casing are causing the issue, or the metal of the hinge has warped, and stopped gripping, in which case, you would need to replace that part of the hinge. it is very difficult to analyze over the PC, and a technicianshould need to have his hands on the device before saying what needs to be done.
