What's the correct kit for replacing the screen on my IPad A1670?

I've searched all over online. No one supports repair of the new 2nd generation ipads. I even called a local repair place, and they said they don't repair them because they're waiting for the cost of the parts to come down.

On here, there are 2 options:

iPad Pro 12.9" (2015) Screen

My iPad's digitizer still works, it's just the cracked screen I need fixing.

Can it be done?

Thank you!

those are the correct parts. my store does a few of these each month. its a very expensive repair. the screen combo of LCD/DIGI/Glass is mandatory because of the construction type.

getting the more expensive one is not a necessity, but it will make your day SO much easier.

Why are some vendors saying they can't repair the 2nd gen Ipad Pro 12.9", if the 1st gen repair kit will work?

by

oh! because i misread the model number, and misspoke. the 1st gen screen will not work on the 2 gen models. i will do some hunting on parts

my three suppliers, (one of them Certified OEM for warranty repairs) all do not carry the parts likely you will have to get a screen via reclaim from a used, or lemon device.

I've been thinking about trying some Windshield Repair Kits... to minimize the visual impairment caused by "bulls eye" cracks.

Repair kit on Amazon:

Any reason I shouldn't try it?

i mean, hypothetically, it could work. though im not sure of the capacitive nature of the resin, nor the effects the oils used in it would have abrasively to the touch panel under the cracks. i cant, in good faith, give you the all clear, strictly due to lack of knowledge in the physics department of windshield repair kits. however, should you decide to go forward with it, i would appreciate feedback on it.

FOR SCIENCE!
