Help me plz. iPhone 6 Plus keep showing temperature warning

Hye ! I have an IPhone 6 plus sent in to me from other shop. When I look around the board, all the VCC_Main cap are removed, the reason this IPhone sent to me is because it keep showing temperature warning even not in hot condition. Before this the IPhone is a water damaged and it already power on, but the only problem is the temperature warning issue.

What should I do now ??

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Temperature error messages are usually related to either defective NTC's (negative thermal coefficient thermistors, such as R1308 etc.) or true excess heat caused by another issue on the logic board. The VCC caps have nothing to do with it. Clearly the previous tech was searching for a shorted component on VCC_MAIN.

Because this phone was water damaged, it must be properly decontaminated first. If that hasn't been done, that should be your first priority. After that, check the thermistors and if those look good, you have to start probing all of the main, PMIC and PMU_RF voltages to get a sense of what is wrong with the phone.

The thermistors looks good, none of them shorted to ground either. When I put the board on my face there is no heat detected. Would you give me a guideline for probing the PMIC ? Where should I start first ?

Start with VCC_MAIN, BATT_VCC & PP5V0_USB. For the PMIC, check the voltage rails it generates:

* The PMIC generates ~15 voltage rails. They are all important (for obvious reasons) but the ones to check first are as follows: PP_CPU, PP_GPU, PP1V8_SDRAM, PP1V2_SDRAM, PP_VAR_SOC, PP0V95_FIXED_SOC, PP3V0_Tristar, PP3V0_NAND, PP1V8_ALWAYS and PP1V0.

* The PMIC also generates, what I would consider secondary, yet still important voltage rails for the following sub-systems: PP3V0_MESA, PP1V8_VA_L19_L67, PP3V0_PROX_ALS, PP3V0_PROX_IRLED, PP3V0_IMU, PP3V3_USB and PP3V3_ACC

okay i'll try check the rails. Thnx for the guide line sir. (Y)

Hi,according to your description, the NTC thermistor may be broken due to the water damaged before.
