Green lines on tv

I have a Sony kd55s8005c 16months old it failed a software update so I updated it via usb now the screen is just green lines no sound when switching the tv on or when anything is plugged in when I disconnected the ribbons at the t con board the lines disappeared and just back light was on all that is on the screen is bands of green yellow when it starts up it's the colours of android starting but it's bands on the screen

I failed the first time as the light was flashing orange and green I downloaded the latest firmware from Sony's website and used a usb to update it after the update the tv turned on and this is how it was I was thinking t con board because when I disconnected it the lines went away

John-craig Lynn under any other circumstance I would have set Panel or T-con board but in your case it maybe caused by bad firmware. Let us know which version firmware you used and how you update. Failed updates can be tricky to repair

John-craig Lynn you could try a new t-con board. Get it somewhere that has an easy return policy. Just in case....

I have just cracked the panel trying to move it so looks like I will be phoning home insurance

John-craig Lynn darn! I am sorry it failed. Not to add insult to injury but don't throw your panel away. Consider using it for a great art object. Look at what @rdklinc is doing on here https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/artic.... I've got a few broken ones myself and think that with a universal backlight driver and a decent frame, those may even look good.
