Vizio M-55-D0 wired or wireless streaming apps, which is it?

Believe this is a 2016 vintage Vizio with SmartCast. Finally cutting the cord and could not get TV to accept my modem/router's WiFi password. Was eventually going to do this, but out of desperation ran an Ehternet wire & connected to back of TV. Great, can now stream any of the apps preinstalled. BUT, those are 2yo apps and some of the more current or popular ones can only be added to the tablet remote. So.. now I'm guessing since I have to actually cast to the TV, these are wireless connections. BTW - My router/modem has WiFi and is broadcasting a strong signal to/near the TV.

Finally, my question(s): Is there a way to add or delete the pre-installed apps on the TV itself? Even the latest handheld remote only has a limited number of streaming app buttons. Since I'm using/trying other apps for streaming that need to be downloaded onto tablet, aren't these WiFi connections if I have to cast them to the TV? My network in settings does show-up as wired... Which is it and when is it wired or wireless? Maybe SmartCast isn't that smart?? Or maybe I'm just too.....

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?
