power button flex cable came off

repairing a 3GS from a friend who has dropped it. power button was working only when pressed very hard, then stopped working at all.

Took it apart and the flex cable came off the black plastic power switch housing. Is there any way to get it back in or do I have find the whole ribbon cable assembly and replace it? That would include all the other button connectors like volume etc., a major hassle.

Also noticed that the FFC only has one single connector to the switch? Does the switch ground it to the chassis then?

Thanks in advance,

The powerswitch ribbon is connected to the audio jack, volume, and silent switch. This connects to the #5 connector. To repair this, you need to remove then entire ribbon assembly and replace with a new ribbon. Which means, remove board and remove ribbon assembly.
