Cracked the bottom part of screen, messing with the actual screen.

I know I didn't really explain all that well from my title, so here's a picture of it.

It seems that there's a ribbon cable or something exposed. If I replace the bar itself, will the display work? If not should I just bring it into the shop.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Exact same thing happened to me. My iPhone slid from the side of the touch pad and cracked the same spot. Idiotic how fragile the black strip is. Seen many people who has this problem. Apple refuses to answer on email, only to refer to a phone number.

Does this mess up other parts of the computer?

I had the exact same incident occur. how did u resolve? I have a little crack on the bottom strip but nothing exposed and screen has no issues.. YET

@patagucci - Hey there!

I'm just checking in to see what resolve came of this?

I bought a brand new MacBook Pro a couple weeks ago, and I was closing the screen (something tiny must've been wedged between the sharp corner, and the dark grey 'MacBook Pro' strip), and I heard a crunch.

I now have a small crunched glass/crack on that grey strip, and I am baffled at how it even happened. I'm definitely disappointed, especially having so recently purchased the darn (expensive) thing.

I have no issues with my screen itself as of yet, but I would like to get it fixed before something does progress.

Trying to look into solutions / warranty at this time, so anyone who can offer advice is welcome.

Thanks for posting this, glad I'm not the only one with this issue.
